There are so many different beauty products out there today and people often worry about the harmful chemicals and ingredients in them and not to mention the expense, so I wanted to share five of my favorite D-I-Y beauty secrets!

1.Moisturizer:

Don’t buy expensive E, A, or C enhanced moisturizers, instead go to any health food store, vitamin store, or pharmacy and get these vitamins in capsule form and poke a hole in capsule and add to your moisturizer. You will get the benefits of the vitamins without all the extra chemicals and cost.

2.Age or dark Spot Fade Cream:

Make your own mixture to lighten age/dark spots and sun damaged upper chest. Mix the juice of 1 lemon, 1 lime, 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 ounces of plain greek yogurt. Gently massage into each spot. Use at least once a week.

3.Dark Circles:

A lot of people know cucumber slices used as a compress over closed eyes will relieve puffy eyes. But did you know raw potato slices contain Potassium to take away dark circles under the eyes!

4.Nourishing Hair Mask:

Don’t throw away your overripe avocados. Instead, mash it up and blend through dry hair. Leave mixture on for 30 minutes. Then shampoo thoroughly.

5.Teeth Whitener:

There has been a buzz about using charcoal for teeth whitening lately, and it sounds weird but it works, you can easily try this at home by using burned toast. Pound a couple of slices into a powder and add a few drops of peppermint oil and brush onto teeth, rinse and repeat when desired.

Tip: Make sure you are not allergic or sensitive to any of these products before using, especially the lemon juice. Enjoy!
